Abu Dhabi, 5 September 2025: The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2025 has been captivating thousands of visitors over the past few days with an array of unique and extraordinary exhibits celebrating the UAE’s rich history and innovative spirit. Taking place at the ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, ADIHEX 2025 is a celebration of cutting-edge innovation and craftsmanship that defines Emirati heritage.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, ADIHEX 2025 is a multi-day celebration running until September 7. The exhibition has been the cornerstone of Abu Dhabi’s cultural life since 2003, and with 2025 marking its 22nd edition is the biggest and best version yet, with visitors offered a unique and unparalleled opportunity to explore heritage through the innovations of the 21st century.
Among the standout attractions this year are two rare camels who are the cloned offspring of the renowned Mabrokan, a camel celebrated for its beauty and one of the most famous in the world when he passed away in 2010. Following Mabrokan’s death, scientists at the UAE’s Biotech Research Centre preserved his tissue which was then successfully used to clone 11 camels. The camels on display at ADIHEX 2025 exemplify this pioneering work, showcasing cutting-edge innovation in animal genetics and cloning right here in the UAE.
Adding to the excitement, CARACAL, a regional leader in high-performance small arms design and an EDGE entity within the Missiles & Weapons cluster, is showcasing three distinct Merkel Helix Deluxe VIP hunting rifles. These rifles feature unique hand-engraved motifs on the rifle action, including exquisite depictions of an Arabian horse, the historic Al Jaheli Fort, and the iconic Dubai skyline, as well as the “Liwa” pistol, featuring a gold-inlayed Arabic poem on the slide.
Two exquisite diamond artworks are on display in the arts pavilion, another stunning example of craftsmanship at ADIHEX 2025 that fuses innovation with heritage and luxury. These diamond-encrusted portraits depict UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice-President and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, created by Emirati jewellery artist Fakhri Tarabein. Valued at AED 1.2 million, each portrait is composed of over one million micro-diamonds, containing more than 180 carats of natural stones set on fibreglass and framed with ornate 24-karat gold-plating. Produced in collaboration with Italian artisans, the portraits took a year of meticulous diamond selection and craftsmanship, embodying innovation that transforms luxury into timeless art.
Luxurious bejewelled falcon hoods from Dovile De Angelis are also captivating visitors at this year’s exhibition, with each piece elegantly honouring the cultural heritage of the Gulf and reflecting intricate Islamic artistry and craftmanship rooted in ancient techniques and traditions.
Visitors can also marvel at traditional masterpieces such as the intricately crafted swords showcased by Khanyar, which celebrate the enduring legacy of Arabian craftsmanship. Among the highlights is a special collection of daggers and swords that pay tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, offering a remarkable display of traditional Emirati artistry and reverence for the UAE’s founding father.
